The camera I use for most of my shots is the Olympus PEN E-PL9, which I find takes great quality images with 16MP. It’s compact and lightweight, easy to use even for beginners, and you can take selfies too as you can flip the screen down to face you. It has a really stylish design which I love, but what really sold it for me was the fact that it has Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity installed, so you can easily connect it to your smartphone to share images and control the camera via an app without having to go through a computer! It saves me so much time and hassle, which is perfect for bloggers!
It usually comes with a 14-42mm lens (or you can buy it separately). This lens is great for most normal pictures. I also bought the 45mm lens which is great for portrait shots and getting that bokeh effect in your images.
I also recommend getting a good tripod for your camera if you want to take photos hands-free, at different angles or just to keep your camera steady; I bought the Bonfoto B690A tripod which is compact, lightweight and has a 360 degree ball head which allows me to swivel my camera and take photos at any angle – so handy for taking flatlays, portraits or landscape shots!
I still use my phone to take images sometimes as it’s so convenient and the quality is still pretty good, but if you want to improve your photography and image quality, then I definitely would recommend getting a decent camera.
